Wednesday, 08 November – Depart from USA

The pilgrims will depart from Rochester.  

Thursday, 09 November – Arrive in Israel

Upon arrival at Tel Aviv airport in the morning we meet our guide and driver then we head to Caesarea Martima to visit one of the greatest Herod’s achievements and the place where Peter baptized Cornelius the centurion. Then we drive to Mount Carmel to visit one the caves where the prophet Elisha lived and honor his competition with the false gods. At the end of the day, we drive to the sea of Galilee for dinner & overnight.

Friday, 10 November: Nazareth- Cana- Mt. Tabor After breakfast, we will drive to Nazareth, where we visit the Grand Basilica of the Annunciation and the St. Joseph’s Church. We stop at Cana, where Jesus performed his first miracle by turning water to wine at a wedding. Its modest church is a suitable place to reconfirm wedding vows. We will then drive to Mount Tabor, the Mount of the Transfiguration (Matthew 17:1-8). From the top of the mountain there is a wonderful panoramic view which extends from Mt. Hermon in the north to the hills of Samaria in the south. Back to the hotel for dinner & overnight.

Saturday, November 11 : Sea of Galilee After breakfast we take a boat ride across the Sea of Galilee. Then we will stop at the church of Multiplication (Tabgha), then to the Primacy of Peter where Jesus commanded Peter to “Feed my sheep”. Then we will proceed to Capernaum to see the remains of an early church, the ruins of Peter’s house, and the ancient synagogue. Then we will gather on the Mount of Beatitudes by the Sea of Galilee to read the Sermon on the Mount while overlooking the Jordan Valley.

Sunday, November 12 : Bethlehem- Shepherds field we start our day after breakfast by driving to Bethlehem to visit the birthplace of Jesus which is marked by the Basilica of the Nativity and kneel at the place of his birth in the Grotto of the Nativity. Then we visit the Shepherd’s Field where the Angel of the Lord proclaimed the good news of the birth of the Savior (Luke 2:8-18). Check into our hotel in Jerusalem for dinner & overnight.

Monday, November 13 : Mt. Of Olives- Mt. Zion- St. Peter in Gallicantu -Ein Karem We begin this day after breakfast, driving to the top of the Mount of Olives, for a majestic view over all of ancient and modern Jerusalem, the center of the biblical world, the Pater Noster Church and the Chapel of Dominus Flevit (Jesus wept) before walking down the “Palm Sunday Road” to the Garden of Gethsemane and the Church of All Nations (Basilica of the Agony) where Christ prayed on the night of His betrayal (Luke 22:40-46).  Next, we will visit the Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu (Palace of Caiaphas), the Upper Room, and the Dormition Abbey on Mount Zion. Then we drive to Ein Karem to visit the birthplace of St. John and the shrine of the visitation. Back to our hotel for dinner & overnight.

Tuesday, November 14: Massada-Qumran- Jericho- Jordan River- Dead Sea This morning we start our day by driving to Massada the last standing fortress where the Jews fought against the romans during the great revolt. From there we drive back to visit Qumran the place where they found the biblical scrolls of the Old Testament, then we go to the Baptismal site by the Jordan River to renew our baptismal vows. Afterwards we will visit Jericho, the most ancient city in the world, and Stop at Sycamore tree of the kind Zacchaeus climbed in-order to see Jesus and view the Mount of Temptation. Next there will be an opportunity to bathe in the waters of the Dead Sea – the lowest spot on the face of Earth. Back to Jerusalem for dinner & overnight.

Wednesday, November 15: Old City- Via Dolorosa – Temple Mount -Western Wall- St. Ann Today is a walking tour within the walls of the Old City of Jerusalem, visiting the Pools of Bethesda, where Jesus healed the man who had been crippled for 38 years (John 5:2-9), and the Church of St. Anne where there is an opportunity to sing a hymn before walking along the Via Dolorosa (Way of the Cross) from Pilate’s Judgment Hall to the empty tomb in the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Afterwards we will have the opportunity walk on the platform of the temple mount to see al Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock, and then we go to visit the Western wall the holiest site for the Jews. Back to our Hotel for dinner & overnight.

Thursday, November 16: Cross to Jordan & drive to Petra After Breakfast we cross the Allenby bridge to the Jordanian side and drive to Petra “The rose, red City”. Then dinner &overnight in Petra.

Friday, November 17: Visit Petra & Drive back to Amman After early Breakfast we visit the beautiful site of Petra hike through the canyon to explore the treasury and see the greatness of the ancient city of Petra. Then we drive back to Amaan for Dinner & overnight.

Saturday, November 18: Mount Nibo-Madaba Monastery- Cross back to Jerusalem After Breakfast we visit Mount Nebo where Moses viewed the Holy Land. Then we visit Madaba; The St George church” the home of a beautiful 6th century mosaic map of the Holy Land”. Afterwards we cross back to the Holyland and drive to our hotel in Jerusalem for dinner & overnight.

Sunday, November 19: departure.
